John the Baptist and the Zodiac

At the time of John's birth, the sun was beginning its transit out of the house of Aries at the Vernal Equinox. John the Baptist embodies this transition in his statement that "he (Jesus) must increase, but I must decrease" (John 3:30). John was conceived six months prior to Jesus, which would place his conception at the Autumn Equinox prior to Jesus' conception, and his birth at the Summer Solstice prior to Jesus' birth. 

John's conception and birth typify the elder sun of the elder year and the elder age (Aries). The timing of John's conception at the end of his father Zechariah's time presiding over the ceremonies on the last High Holy Days of the Age of Aries, which likewise marked the last Autumn Equinox of the Age of Aries, and John's birth at Noon on the first Summer Solstice of the Age of Pisces, attest to the fact that as John, he was the symbol of the Christ of the previous age, decreasing as the new Christ of the Age of Pisces increased. 

Just as the Spring Equinox defines the newborn Sun and the new year, likewise, the Autumn Equinox defines the dying Sun of the waning year, as the Autumn Equinox marks the crucifixion (crossing) of the Sun across the equator on its annual journey southward in the sky. From the Spring Equinox up until the Autumn Equinox, the days were longer than the nights, but after the Sun transits across the equator at the Autumn Equinox, the days begin growing shorter than the nights.

Likewise, just as the Winter Solstice marks the resurrection of the Sun at the Tropic of Capricorn, the Summer Solstice marks the Sun in all its glory at the Tropic of Cancer. The Summer Solstice is the longest day - and the shortest night - of the year, after which the Sun begins to decrease in the sky. Again, when John - signifying the Sun at the Summer Solstice - states that he must decrease, he was speaking as the embodiment of the Sun in its annual transition from one Tropic to the other, as well as the Christos of the Age of Aries, whom must increase in order that the Age of Pisces increase.

John likewise embodied the Paschal lamb, who was to be allegorically slaughtered (''beheaded'' from his station as the next Kohen Gadol, or Head of the Aaronic Priesthood) ''between the eves'' (these ''eves'' being the equinoxes). The Summer Solstice literally falls exactly between the two eves: the Spring Equinox being the first ''evening'' of the celestial year, and the Autumn Equinox being the second ''evening'' of the celestial year, for the term ''Equinox'' - ''Equal (Equi) night (nox)'' - literally means the same as the terms ''Eve'' and ''Evening''.
