The Seven Churches

The seven churches that Paul wrote to are the seven planets, and his rebuke is in reference to their negative influences / aspects upon the Earth and its inhabitants. The ancients held to the belief that the moon and the planets imposed specific influences upon mankind. Even today, the moon's influence is felt on earth not only physically (such as controlling the tides), but according to psychiatric research, emotionally (the terms lunatic and lunacy, as well as wolf-man folklore attests to such beliefs). These seven heavenly bodies are also said to control the seven deadly sins, and are referred to as the seven hills upon the sea of space and the seven lamps of deity figured in the menorah: not quite stars, but rather, planets.
