The Catholic Solar Jesus This is not in reference to the True Messianic Son of God whom the Jews eagerly awaited at the onset of the Age of Piesces in the first millennium AD, but rather it is in reference to the worldly, yearly solar cult exploited in ignorance and avarice by the Catholic Church. To worship only one aspect of the Divine Plan of all things great and small is an affront to the Truth. The Pagan Tradition: The ''Dying Sun'' meets it's annual ''death'' on December 22nd (the first day of the Winter Solstice), and is ''reborn'' as the ''Newborn Sun'' on December 25th (the last day of the Winter Solstice) at Midnight in the Tropic of Capricorn, with the Star Sirius directly overhead. The Tropic of Capricorn is the southern-most point on Earth to which the Sun ''travels'' before ''turning back'' northward towards the Tropic of Cancer, where it ''arrives'' at the Summer Solstice. The Catholic Tradition: Jesus the Son of God is born on December 25th during the Winter Solstice at Midnight in Bethlehem with the Star of Bethlehem directly overhead. The Reality: While the Sun does spin on its own axis, while moving through space, the Sun's path does not change: it is the Earth's wobble on its own axis over a 365.25 day cycle while it transits around the Sun that causes the illusion of the Sun being reborn and dying in an annual cycle. On the Sun's voyage northward through Capricorn, it travels 30 degrees in 30 days to reach the zodiac Aquarius. Aquarius is the Water Bearer, who pours out God's mercy upon the Earth in the form of Water: Baptism by water. Jesus began his mission by visiting with, and being baptized by, John the Baptist at the age of 30. The Sun leaves Aquarius and enters Pisces. Pisces is the zodiac symbolized by two fish. After leaving John the Baptist, Jesus meets the two fishermen Simon and Andrew. Jesus makes them "Fishers of men". Due to the earth's procession in relation to the zodiac, the Spring Equinox gradually moves through the zodiac signs counter-clockwise. At the time of Jesus, the spring Equinox was moving from Aries the ram to Pisces the fish. For this reason, over time, the fish symbol (Ichthys/Ichthus) came to replace the earlier symbol of the Lamb. Most of the zodiac Aquarius disappears below the horizon, leaving only the water-bearer's head visible above the horizon. John the Baptist is beheaded and his head is placed on a platter (Matter). The Sun transits from Pisces to Aries at the Spring Equinox. Aries is symbolized as a Ram, a Sheep or a Lamb. From the Spring Equinox on, the days leading up to the Summer Solstice become longer than the nights, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness, warmth over cold. and thus life over death. Easter - the Christian celebration of the resurrection of Jesus - is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Vernal Equinox. Next, the Sun leaves Aries and enters Taurus, after which the Sun passes through the Milky way between Taurus and Gemini, thus appearing to walk on water. Further, the Sun reaches the Tropic of Cancer at the Summer Solstice. The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year, and thus, the Sun in all its glory. Cancer is symbolized by several different creatures. The most well-known of these is the Crab, which is an amphibious creature, which thus is capable of appearing to ''walk on water''. In Babylonian astrology, Cancer is symbolized by the Turtle, also an amphibious creature with the ability to appear to ''walk on water''. Cancer is also symbolized by two main stars - the Southern and Northern Colts. In Egypt, the Summer Solstice marks the beginning of the rainy season, at which time the pharaoh ascended to the king's chamber within the Great Pyramid to ceremonially bring about the rains. Jesus walks on water, like a crab or turtle might. Jesus ascends a high mountain, marking the apex of his ministry. It is written that his face "radiated light like the Sun", which is descriptively identical with the appearance afforded to Moses after his ascension upon Mount Zion as well as the pharaohs upon descending from the Great Pyramid, at the base of which sat the Lion-headed Sphinx. Jesus (the Lion of Judah - Leo) likewise rode two asses (colts) in triumph into Jerusalem (Jerusalem literally means the "City of the Evening" or in an annual context, the "City of the Fall"). After passing through Leo (the House of Judah), the Sun next transits into the House of Virgo - the Eternal Virgin. Virgo is seated before a well known as The Well of the Abyss, below which prowls the serpent Hydra which itself encompasses an area in the underworld below encompassing approximately 1/4 of the entire wheel of the zodiacs. In Virgo's hand she holds a sheet of wheat, notated by the star Spica, as though she is attempting to keep it from falling into the realm of Hydra. Thus Virgo is sometimes referred to as the House (zodiac) of Bread. It is also significant to note, that the Jewish High Holy Days and Jewish New Year begin around the Autumn Equinox. In an annual context, the cusp between Virgo and Libra denotes the evening (Salome) time of the year - the Autumn Equinox is an evening time of equal day and night. Jesus is born to The Virgin in Bethlehem (''House of Bread''). A star shines bright above (Spica- the Star of the House of Bread)... the Star of Bethlehem. Herod (Hydra) is on the prowl, in hopes that he might destroy the Virgin's Son. After passing through Virgo, the Sun next enters in Libra - Justice, symbolized as a set of Scales. These denotes the Evening time of the year: equal day and night: the evening out of summer and winter, and the harbinger of darker, colder times ahead. It is during this time that the Sun is said to be sentenced to death for the annual sins of mankind. After evicting the money changers from the Temple, Jesus and his 12 disciples (signifying the 12 Houses) celebrate the Harvest Meal - the Last Supper of the year. After leaving Libra, the Sun enters into, and is lethally stung by, Scorpio, whose name means "wounding him that comes". The brightest star in, and also the heart of, Scorpio is Antares, which means "the wounding". This wounding is witnessed by the markedly shorter, colder days and longer, colder nights as the Sun slowly dies. Jesus is betrayed by one of his disciples (Judas Scorpio): the Kiss of Judas is the Sting of Scorpio. Isn't it strange that with as much following and renown as Jesus had, the priests had to rely on Judas to identify Jesus to them? Did Judas hang himself (Matthew 27), or did he fall headlong over a ravine which caused his body to burst open and his entrails to spill out (Acts 1)? Perhaps these two renditions denote two separate occasions regarding the sacrifice of the Lamb of Azazel, in which on one occasion the lamb was caught up in thistles and suffocated after being thrown down a ravine, and in another case where the Lamb of Azazel was thrown down a rocky crag, causing its body to split open. After crossing paths with Scorpio, the Sun finds itself in the House of Sagittarius. Sagittarius is a man on a horse with a bow and arrow. The sun is setting further and further in the southern sky, giving less and less light to the northern latitudes. Herod is a personification of Night. Herod, or the darkness of Night, is taking over Jesus, the sun, as the days get shorter and shorter and darkness begins to reign. Herod is also the Egyptian Herut Serpent, also called Apophis in Egyptian, as well as Hydra in Greek and Leviathan in Hebrew, and in all of these traditions he is figured as a dragon or serpent. He is the Hydra constellation that resides just below the houses of the Autumn and early Winter zodiacs, ever-seeking to destroy the son of the Virgin. The dying Sun enters into its tomb at the Tropic of Capricorn before being resurrected as the Newborn Son (New Year) on the final day of the Winter Solstice. Solstice literally means "Sun (Sol) stands still (stice)". Father Time and Baby New Year, the raising of Lazarus, etc. After Judas betrays Jesus with the kiss of death, Jesus passes into the Hands of Pilate (the House of Sagittarius) and is thereafter crucified by Herod. Jesus dies on December 22nd - on the cusp between Sagittarius and Capricorn, and his body is handed over to be entombed in the Tropic of Capricorn where he lays in state for three days at the Winter Solstice before ascending on December 25th as the resurrected only begotten Son of God. And so the epic fulfills itself into infinity - Jesus born in a cave, son of the Virgin, on the final day of the Winter Solstice, to bring light unto the Earth and its inhabitants, to bring grace and mercy to his followers, and to die for the sins of man.
